The Yangju City Infinite Care Hope Team, with the support of SEALON, is launching
the “Meal Power Up, Independence UP!” side-dish support program targeting vulnerable single-person households
and young adults preparing for independent living.
This side-dish support program is being carried out as part of efforts to address social issues such as isolation
and reduced social activity caused by the recent increase in vulnerable single-person households,
and to strengthen their capacity for social participation.
The donated funds will be used for eco-friendly housing improvement projects for vulnerable groups in Yangju City,
as well as for gift support programs for the Lunar New Year in 2026.
According to the 2025 Gyeonggi-do Single-Person Household Survey, single-person households account for 29.8%
of all households in Yangju City, meaning nearly one in three households is a single-person household.
In particular, 44.9% of respondents cited difficulty in maintaining a balanced diet as a major challenge,
indicating that meal-related issues are a key concern.
Accordingly, the Yangju City Infinite Care Hope Team stated that the program aims to promote social activity
and reduce isolation by supporting balanced meals for vulnerable single-person households and young adults transitioning out of childcare facilities.
This meal support program is sponsored by SEALON, located in Nam-myeon, Yangju City.
SEALON has been continuously supporting the emergency home repair assistance program of
the Yangju City Infinite Care Hope Team since 2023. A portion of its total donation of KRW 72.5 million
in 2026 has been allocated to this self-reliance support project.
In addition, the production of the side-dish sets will be carried out in cooperation with the Yangju City Merchants’ Cooperative,
which has also been actively engaged in various sharing activities such as briquette support in winter, New Year’s rice cake soup sharing,
and summer samgyetang support.
Na Gyupil, Team Leader of the Yangju City Infinite Care Hope Team, stated, “We will continue to explore support measures
for the various challenges faced by single-person households and make ongoing efforts to help them maintain daily life and achieve independence.”
